5 ways the Walker Mower makes lawn and property maintenance easy
THE WALKER ADVANTAGE - BEAUTIFUL CUT
Since the early 80’s, the Walker Mower has been providing an efficient way to cut lawns beautifully. This is by design, and the unique features of the out-front Walker deck gives operators results that are different.
LIGHT ON THE TURF
A machine that weighs less reduces impact when maneuvering on the grass, and it virtually eliminates rutting caused by heavy mowers. The less weight you put on grass the better.
FRONT-MOUNT DECK
Beautiful cut has been our focus from the very first Walker Mower design. Positioning the mowing deck in front of the machine is fundamental in producing high quality mowing.
BEAUTIFUL CUT BY DESIGN
A mowing deck should have one purpose, to cut grass beautifully in a single pass. Each Walker deck style and size are treated as a unique engineering opportunity. Disciplined attention to detail is key to delivering a beautiful cut.

THE WALKER ADVANTAGE - VERSATILITY
A great lawn mower is a critical tool in maintaining your property year-round. And with unmatched versatility thanks to a large variety of seasonal attachments and implements, the Walker Mower stands out when it comes to utility in every season.
Spring Versatility
Make Springtime lawn care easy with the versatile Walker Mower
DETHATCHING
Excessive thatch can cause a number of issues, but the Walker A10 Dethatcher attachment is a great solution.
Mounting directly to your Walker gear-driven deck, the A10 Dethatcher uses 24 spring-loaded tines to quickly break heavy thatch loose from the turf. Paired with the Walker Grass Handling System®, thatch, lawn debris, and clippings are vacuumed from the lawn leaving a clean look in a single pass.
Eliminate Excessive Thatch
Most lawns will naturally have a thin layer of thatch, but excessive thatch can cause a number of issues such as:
- Harboring pests and diseases
- Trapping grass roots, preventing them from reaching the soil
- Preventing water from reaching grass roots
- Trapping nutrients, preventing them from benefiting the grass
Dethatching a lawn in early spring with the Walker A10 Dethatcher attachment ensures the thatch layer is not becoming too thick
MOWING
The first cutting of the season is a critical one. Using the Walker ensures you get your lawn off to a great start.
Additionally, the top layer of dead grass may hold potential fungal or mould problems. Removing the debris and top layer of grass is important for ensuring healthy lawn growth.
Using the Walker Mower to collect leaves, debris, and winter kill with the exclusive Grass Handling System® vacuum action ensures lawns get off to a healthy start.
For the first cutting of the season, lower your Walker Mower's cutting deck to help remove the top layer of dead grass.
FERTILISING
Even the best lawns need a healthy feeding program. The Spyker Spreader attachment makes fertilising fast and easy.
Fertilising not only can boost a lawn’s health, colour, and thickness, but also its natural defences against environmental stresses, weeds and pests. Depending on location, grass type, soil PH, and watering strategy, there is a fertiliser or soil amendment suited for any lawn.
WEED/MOSS TREATMENT
Maintaining a healthy lawn free of troublesome weeds is made easy with the Walker Boom Sprayer attachment.
Timing Is Everything
Maintaining a healthy property free of crabgrass, dandelions, and other troublesome weeds requires a head start, and spring is the ideal season to get out in front of weed infestations.
Most weeds begin germinating when soil temperatures approach 12°C. Applying a pre-emergent herbicide in the early spring will help eliminate weed growth in lawns and beds.
A spray-gun with a 20-foot hose allows the operator to leave the mower and treat all landscape features. The spray tip adjusts to offer output varying from a mist to a 35-foot stream.
The large 25-gallon tank will treat most situations and the large opening and 12-volt SHURflo pump makes cleaning of the tank and spray system easy.
Keeping a healthy lawn free of troublesome weeds is made easy with the Walker Boom Sprayer attachment. The Walker Boom Sprayer mounts to most Walker decks and offers up to an eight-foot spray pattern, allowing operators to apply liquid herbicides or other treatments in an efficient manner.
OVERSEEDING
Over-seeding to ensure your lawn is free of thin or bare spots can be accomplished with the Spyker Pro-Series Spreader.
Watch the Grass Grow
Just after treating a lawn with pre-emergent herbicides is the ideal time for overseeding to ensure the lawn is free of thin or bare spots.
Like weeds, grass seed germination is most active when the soil is neither frozen nor excessively hot, making spring and fall the ideal times to spread grass seed.
UTILITY
The Walker is perfect for a wide variety of tasks, from cleanup and pruning to transporting mulch and plants.
Springtime lawn work is busy and varied. With so many tasks, having a mower that can assist in many of these utility jobs is important.
Whether transporting mulch, plants, or other planting materials with the Walker Loader Bucket or Utility Bed, or performing any pre-season lawn care like dethatching, spreading or spraying, the Walker Mower is the ideal springtime utility lawn mower.
If you are a homeowner caring for your gardens and lawn, or a commercial operator caring for your clients’ properties, the Walker Mower will help you stay productive and efficient in any season of the year.
Summer Versatility
Helping you beat the long hot days of summer
A great lawn mower is a critical tool in maintaining your property year-round. And with unmatched versatility thanks to a large variety of seasonal attachments and implements, the Walker Mower stands out when it comes to utility in every season.

5 WAYS
...the Walker Mower makes lawn and property maintenance EASY
Walker Makes Mowing Easy
The work of operating a lawn mower all day is made easier when you’re comfortable and using a mower that makes steering, maneuvering, getting into tight spaces, and gliding over hills and a variety of terrain easy.
Let us show you how
Precision Steering and Handling
The Industry's easiest and most responsive steering
Forward Speed Control
Drive ahead by simply moving the forward speed control. Once in the drive position, the forward speed control uses a friction lock to work as a cruise control; allowing the operator to control the mower by simply applying pressure to the steering levers. This makes operating easy by not having to hold anything forward.
Steering Levers
Walker Mower steering levers take control the moment you apply pressure. Each steering lever is preloaded forward using an integrated spring-over dampener, which sets transmission torque and provides smooth machine operation. This allows the operator to easily steer the machine by controlling both levers with a single hand.
Responsive and Precise Steering
Be Responsive, Be Profitable
Win the challenge of responsive steering and you win the race of overall job time...Easy-to-use controls and a well-balanced machine help Walker operators confidently drive closer to obstacles and finish in one pass.
Intuitive Design
Cruise Control And Finger Tip Responsiveness
The intuitive Walker steering design requires less input from the operator and returns more responsive results. The control of the Walker is easily mastered leading to confident and safe operation.
Operator Comfort
Productivity begins with comfort
Walker Mowers’ steering system is unique. The precision steering and handling of the Walker responds to finger-tip control, reducing overall operator fatigue.
Steering levers can also be adjusted to suit each operator, and optional steering lever extensions are available to ensure a comfortable operating position is found.
Seat Options
The Walker Comfort Seat Features:
1. Premium seat bolstering and back profile for increased posture and lumbar support
2. Increased seat area with added thigh support at the front of the seat
3. Elastomeric Vibration Control which greatly increases comfort during operation by isolating engine vibration along with bumps and hits from rough terrain
The Walker Suspension Seat Features:
1. Full-spring suspension with dampening for a smooth ride over the roughest of terrains
2. Adjustments for operator weight, lumbar support, back angle, and armrest angle allow for complete customization
Hillside Stability
Predictable traction is fundamental to confident operation. Traction is increased when the weight of the mower is concentrated where the drive tires meet the turf. Whether you are mowing on hillsides or making high-speed zero-turns, the Walker will provide the traction that allows you to mow with confidence.
The counterweight springs enhance the traction of the Walker by transferring weight from the deck caster wheels and the tail wheel to the drive tires.
Front Mount Decks
The front-mount deck of the Walker reduces impact on the turf prior to cutting resulting in a more consistent, carpet-like finish. This is achieved by transferring weight away from the deck caster tires minimizing matting of grass. The Walker torsion-flex carrier frame allows the deck to freely articulate and twist laterally producing a smooth cut, even over complicated ground contours. With decks that have this ability, Walker Mowers are ideal for mowing uneven turf.
Deck coupling refers to the distance between the machine drive tire and the deck caster tire. The shorter the deck coupling, the less likely a mower is to scalp crests or leave uncut grass in swales. To cut grass beautifully on challenging terrain, Walker Mowers are designed with short deck coupling. Sharp blades and a clean deck housing have a direct impact on cut quality.
With mower decks that tilt up in seconds, sharpening or changing blades, cleaning the deck housing, and other maintenance tasks are fast and easy.
Trimming Capability
One of the many ways to get you on and off the lawn faster is to reduce the effort and time it takes to trim around trees, beds, and other landscape features. The Walker easily and precisely trims more beds and raised obstacles in one pass saving you time over and over again.
All Walker collection, mulching, and rear discharge decks allow you to trim on both sides. Stay productive in more areas by simply mowing, not planning out your pattern.
Walker Makes a Beautiful Cut Easy
Walker Makes a Beautiful Cut Easy
The work of operating a lawn mower all day is made easier when you’re comfortable and using a mower that makes steering, manouvering, getting into tight spaces, and gliding over hills and a variety of terrain easy.
Let us show you how
Light on the Turf
Weight Matters. A lightweight mower improves productivity and agility and is key in producing a beautiful cut. Walker strives to keep machine weight low through disciplined structural design while maximizing performance and durability.
With a lower overall weight that is evenly distributed, grass springs right back after mowing
Minimise Rutting. Walker Mowers can mow the same patterns week after week, in a variety of conditions, without causing unsightly tracks or damaged grass. With a lower overall weight that is evenly distributed, a Walker will help minimise ground rutting.
Reduced Turf Damage. Walker’s Counter-Weight Springs transfer weight from the caster tires to the drive tires. This reduces turning friction and minimises twisting and rutting damage caused by excessive weight on the front casters, while also improving drive tire traction resulting in more agility and less tire spin.
Grass Handling System
Walker invented the internal Grass Handling System® on our first mower, and it remains the most efficient way to vacuum grass clippings, leaves, or debris from the lawn.
The GHS Design. Provisions for a built-in grass collection system are an integral part of the Walker design. The result is an internal system that fits within the footprint of the mower. The exclusive Walker GHS (Grass Handling System®) offers precise trimming from both sides, powerful vacuum action, clog resistance, and high capacity without the bulk of typical grass catcher attachments found on other mowers. Walker Mowers are engineered to ensure the entire grass collection system is internal. Advantages to this include:
1. Mower retains its compact footprint
2. No bulky tubes or bags, allowing for precise trimming from both sides
3. Powerful vacuum effect
When cutting grass, how you deal with clippings makes a big impact on your day. With numerous Grass Handling System® add-ons available, the Walker Mower can make dealing with clippings a breeze.
Hi-Dump. Power Dump. No-Catch Deflector. Dump Bin. Catcher Screen.
Collection Decks
Collection decks are designed to beautifully cut grass in a number of mowing conditions while working together with the GHS blower to efficiently move material from the underside of the deck. Each Walker collection deck is engineered for dynamic airflow to handle various grass types and lengths along with additional organic material.
Standard vs. Reverse Rotation Decks
Standard rotation blades come together at the front of the deck, moving material directly into the rear discharge chute. Standard rotation decks are ideal for users who need to collect thick, heavy clippings, including leaves and other yard debris.
Reverse rotation blades come together at the rear of the deck, moving material around the edges of the deck before it is channeled into the discharge chute. The simplified airflow design of reverse rotation decks provides exceptional cut quality, especially in the middle and in blade overlap.
Beautiful Cut
At Walker we are passionate about cutting grass well and leaving a beautiful cut. We put in the time and effort to make sure a deck is as good as we can possibly make it. Every Walker deck presents a unique design opportunity and is developed from the ground up to meet the challenge of achieving a beautiful cut.
Lawn Striping
Grass is lifted, cut, and processed evenly across the cut width enabling the Walker to create stripes that draw attention, without the need for bulky rollers or other additional equipment.
Walker Makes Mower Maintenance Easy
Thanks to tilt-up decks and tilt-open bodies, the Walker makes maintaining your mower EASY: blades and belts can quickly be changed in the field, grease fittings ensure longevity, and superior durability ensures you will spend more time on the lawn, not the shop.
Let us show you how
Tilt-up Decks
Quick, safe access to the mowing blades, deck housing, and discharge chute for easy maintenance and cleaning. With most other mowers, a large mower jack or lift would be necessary, but not with the Walker.
Tilt-open Bodies
Within seconds, you have full access to the engine, belts, battery, and internal grass handling components. Belt repairs can be quickly made in the field without tools.
Reliable
Each Walker Mower model is built from the inside out to achieve a balance of durability and performance. Walker Mowers are engineered to
perform and proven to last.
Belts and Blades
It's very user friendly, everything is there. The belts are very easy to change, even on site, if a belt goes on site, I have extras in my trailer, if one goes I'm able to change it right on site. With other machines? Uh, not so easy.
With other mowers, you have to either find a jack or find a way to set it at an angle But with a Walker, you just flip up your deck, pop it out, put in the new blades, and keep on cutting grass.
Grease Fittings and Lubrication
Walker Mowers feature over 30 lubrication points. This means that the moving parts that experience stress and wear are maintainable. Sealed bearings and “lifetime” bearings do have a limited lifespan, so being able to lubricate moving parts greatly extends the life of your mower.
We recommend greasing these lubrication points every 25 hours of operation, and thanks to tilt-open bodies and tilt-up decks, the process is quick and easy.
Walker Makes Versatility and Productivity Easy
With interchangeable front-mount decks, you can easily convert your Walker mower from collection to mulching or side discharge in minutes — and adding a boom, sprayer, brush, dethatcher or dozer blade keeps you productive all year round.
Let us show you how
Interchangeable decks
One mower, many conditions. Mowing lawns is rarely the same day to day. Seasonal changes in moisture levels, growth rate, or material type can often shift overnight. Having the ability to easily customize your mowing configuration makes all the difference.
Leaf Cleanup
The Walker Mower equipped with the powerful GHS (Grass Handling System®) quickly chops and vacuums up most leaves and small tree debris in a single pass.
Dozer Blades
Installs in place of the mowing deck on almost any Walker Mower providing fast, efficient removal of dirt, debris, grass or anything that stands in your way.
Dethatching
Mounting directly to your Walker gear-driven deck, the A10 Dethatcher uses 24 spring-loaded tines to quickly break heavy thatch loose from the turf. Paired with the Walker Grass Handling System®, thatch, lawn debris, and clippings are vacuumed from the lawn leaving a clean look in a single pass.
Dethatching a lawn in early spring with the Walker A10 Dethatcher attachment ensures the thatch layer is not becoming too thick.
Rotary Broom
Designed for use with the Walker Implement Hitch on models C, T, and D, the 47 inch Rotary Broom gently removes dirt and debris from challenging surfaces.
Walker Makes All The Little Things Easy
A lot of little things add up during your workday, and a mower that addresses all these little things makes a huge difference. Operator comfort, grass handling add-ons, easy maintenance, and a cut that you don’t have to worry about, make using the Walker Mower easy.
Let us show you how
Tilt Up Decks
The front-mount deck of the Walker reduces impact on the turf prior to cutting resulting in a more consistent, carpet-like finish. This is achieved by transferring weight away from the deck caster tires minimizing matting of grass.

Power Dump
The Walker Power Dump provides convenience and time savings to commercial mowing companies and homeowners alike by giving the operator the ability to dump the grass catcher from the operator seat. A toggle switch operates the 12-volt electric linear actuator that provides the dumping and door-opening action, which completes in about 10 seconds.
Grass Handling System
Provisions for a built-in grass collection system are an integral part of the Walker design. The result is an internal system that fits within the footprint of the mower. The exclusive Walker GHS (Grass Handling System®) offers precise trimming from both sides, powerful vacuum action, clog resistance, and high capacity without the bulk of typical grass catcher attachments found on other mowers.
Hi-Dump
The Walker Hi-Dump® raises up 67 inches and dumps collected grass and debris into a truck or trailer with a 20-second cycle time. Powered by a 12-volt electric/hydraulic system, the lifting and dumping functions work independently and are controlled by two toggle switches near the operator's seat.
Commercial lawn mowing companies using the Walker Hi-Dump® enjoy time savings as well as a decreased workload for their employees who need not leave the seat to dump a full load of grass clippings.
